Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre

At Tektraco, we specialize in designing and installing medical gas pipeline systems (MGPS) for a variety of hospital departments, including advanced diagnostics such as MRI suites. Our work ensures the delivery of essential medical gases to support cutting-edge technologies and treatments.

Recently, the hospital adopted the latest in cancer treatment technology—the LINAC MRI, which combines magnetic resonance imaging with linear accelerators to provide real-time imaging during radiation therapy. This system enhances the precision of cancer treatments by delivering targeted radiation with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissues, leading to better patient outcomes and reduced side effects.

We are proud to have installed the Medical Gas Pipelines for this new MRI LINAC, supplying all the necessary medical gases to support patient care during both diagnosis and treatment. At Tektraco, we remain committed to providing Malta’s hospitals with top-quality MGPS solutions, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance in every project.

St. Vincent De Paul Residence

At Tektraco, we recently upgraded a client’s portable oxygen cylinder storage room to address safety concerns. Our intervention included installing an advanced Oxygen Detection system that continuously monitors oxygen levels and triggers an alarm if a leak occurs, ensuring prompt response from maintenance personnel. We also implemented clear and visible signage to indicate the room’s purpose and associated risks.

Additionally, we designed and installed a secure storage solution for 144 vertical cylinders, with separate sections for empty and full cylinders, and a horizontal rack for 20 smaller cylinders. This comprehensive approach enhances safety by preventing accidents and ensuring cylinders are securely organized.

St Vincent De Paul
Long-Term Care Facility

St Vincent de Paul Long Term Care Facility opened its doors to clients in 1892. It is Malta’s largest long-term care facility and aims to be a centre of excellence in client-focused care through innovation practices and specialised geriatric care for highly dependent persons with complex needs.

As part of their ongoing regeneration project, SVDP opened a newly refurbished ward dedicated for younger residents. Tektraco was commissioned to install a new oxygen pipeline, as well as new bedhead units which were custom designed and fabricated for this ward.  The ward contains 16 bed spaces, all equipped with bedheads, 12 of which requiring Oxygen outlets.

Steward Gozo Hospital

The Gozo General Hospital is the only hospital on the island of Gozo, providing both inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. The hospital is equipped with an emergency service and is connected with hospitals on mainland Malta with an air ambulance service.

Faced with the pandemic, Steward Health Care Malta invested heavily in getting the hospital COVID-19-ready with extensive upgrades to its equipment. The works involved doubling the capacity of various wards, as well as rebuilding wards to be able to receive and treat COVID-19 patients effectively, while keeping the staff, other patients and the rest of the hospital safe and protected. Tektraco installed new gas distributions and around 60 medical gas outlets to cater for these new bed spaces. Apart from the increased bed capacity, the hospital underwent a major upgrad of its Oxygen, Vacuum and Medical Air supplies, and Tektraco supplied and installed the new medical vacuum plant, new medical air plant and an oxygen control panel.

St Vincent De Paul
Long-Term Care Facility

St Vincent de Paul Long Term Care Facility opened its doors to client in 1892. It is Malta’s largest long-term care facility and aims to be a centre of excellence in client-focused care through innovation practices and specialised geriatric care for highly dependent persons with complex needs.

St Vincent De Paul recently introduced a gas detection system in an oxygen cylinder storage area. The system detects increases in oxygen levels should any gas cylinders leak. This can then be connected to a BMS system, or even include sounders/beacons to alarm staff of increasing oxygen levels which would increase the risk of fires spreading. This particular system has been equipped with an autodialler that informs our clients of up to 4 different alarm states.
