Job Overview

The Lead Installer is responsible for installing pipelines for medical, industrial, and laboratory gas systems, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with building codes and safety regulations. The Lead Installer also takes a leadership role by managing and mentoring a team of installers and assistants.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and participate in the installation of pipelines for gas systems in healthcare facilities, industrial areas in a neat and orderly manner, safely and to the highest quality standard.
  • Ensure that throughout installation, the utmost care is taken to eliminate chances of contamination or damage to pipeline, as well as surrounding services by others.
  • Effectively lead, mentor and train installers and assistants in their team.
    Assist in the installation of medical or laboratory gas equipment such as Manifolds, Plants, Sensors, etc.
  • Assist Installation/Maintenance Coordinator in the daily planning of installation teams.
  • Communicate with clients and other installation professionals, including supervisors and contractors, to ensure seamless coordination during works.
  • Follow HTM02-01 and EN7396-1 procedures and guidelines.
    Assist in the installation of other systems such as Gas Alarm Panels, Gas Detection Systems, Nurse call Systems.
  • May be required to assist works in other Divisions in the company with work requiring large teams.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, safely and to the highest quality standards.
  • Assist the Projects Engineer by performing integrity and quality tests during commissioning of above systems.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with gas and/or plumbing installation and repair, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Although not a must, thorough knowledge of HTM02-01 and EN7396-1 requirements and regulations for Medical Gas Copper Pipeline Installations will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and work drawings, including sketching for updates.

  • Leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and mentor team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work well under pressure.

 

Training:

Training on medical gas copper pipeline installation procedures will be given.
